More Kennedys for Hillary Clinton Than Barack Obama

Kennedys for Clinton

There are more members of the Kennedys Family supporting Hillary Clinton than Barack Obama.

"She stands for Democrats and for the nation," these family members say.
By Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Kerry Kennedy

January 29, 2008

This is a wonderful year for Democrats. Our party is blessed with the most impressive array of primary candidates in modern history. All would make superb presidents.

By now you may have read or heard that our cousin, Caroline Kennedy, and our uncle, Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, have come out in favor of Sen. Barack Obama. We, however, are supporting Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton because we believe that she is the strongest candidate for our party and our country.

While talk of unity and compromise are inspiring to a nation wary of divisiveness, America stands at a historic crossroads where real issues divide our political landscapes. Democrats believe that America should not be torturing people, eavesdropping on our citizens or imprisoning them without habeas corpus or other constitutional rights. We should not be an imperial power. We need healthcare for all and a clean, safe environment.

The loftiest poetry will not solve these issues. We need a president willing to engage in a fistfight to safeguard and restore our national virtues.

We have worked with Hillary Clinton for 15 years (and in Kathleen's case, 25 years) and witnessed the power and depth of her convictions firsthand. We've seen her formidable work ethic, courage in the face of adversity and her dignity and clear head in crisis. We've also seen her two-fisted willingness to enter the brawl when America's principles are challenged. Her measured rhetoric, political savvy and pragmatism shield the heart of our nation's most determined and most democratic warrior.

She has been an uncompromising and loyal ally for each of us in our battles to protect the environment and to promote human rights around the world and juvenile justice in America. Hillary is a problem-solver, listening to people and then achieving solutions by changing attitudes.

Her transformational leadership was on display when she ran for the Senate seat in New York that had been held by our father, Sen. Robert F. Kennedy. She faced rabid, heavily funded attacks from the far right and the challenge of prevailing in traditionally Republican upstate New York. Traveling with her, we watched admiringly as she persuasively articulated an inspiring and unifying vision rooted in American values and history. Then, through patience, hard work, leadership and political acumen, she transformed many of those rock-solid conservative counties into solid Democratic strongholds.

We look forward to working beside her in the general election as she uses those same talents to change once rigid opinions and political affiliations across the nation.

Like our father, Hillary has devoted her life to embracing and including those on the bottom rung of society's ladder -- giving voice to the alienated and disenfranchised and working to alleviate poverty and injustice, while urging that we cannot advance ourselves as a nation by leaving our poorer brothers and sisters behind.

She's been an equally effective champion for human rights and for women's rights, a worldwide cause that will profit enormously by her elevation to the presidency. She has worked for peace in Northern Ireland and fought to bridge religious, racial and ethnic divides from Bosnia to the Middle East to South Africa. She has shown a rare understanding that American values can only be exported by moral leadership, by a strong home economy and by a detailed understanding of the history and cultural backdrops of the nations we engage.

She understands, as our current administration does not, the uses of power. The world, she says, is hungry for U.S. leadership but will not accept our bullying. She knows the difference and will reestablish America's lost prestige and moral authority.

Hillary Clinton's political career has been centered in comforting the afflicted, afflicting the comfortable and reminding Americans what it means to be American. As a young lawyer, she focused on children's issues and legal aid. As first lady of Arkansas, she brought healthcare to rural areas and helped reform the state's lagging education system.

As first lady, she courageously took on healthcare reform. When a massive propaganda campaign by Big Pharma and the radical right derailed her efforts, she didn't give up. She helped create the nationally acclaimed Children's Health Insurance Program. That kind of persistence in pursuit of our highest ideals is the brand of leadership America now requires. Inspirational leadership comes in many forms.

Seldom has history confronted America with such daunting challenges: a catastrophic foreign policy that has cost us our international leadership and aggravated the threat of terror; a misbegotten war that is squandering precious American lives and treasure; a healthcare system that leaves millions of Americans without coverage; irresponsible corporate power that is corroding our democracy and outsourcing our jobs, aggravating global warming and other environmental crises and reducing our economy to shambles.

We need a leader who is battle-tested, resilient and sure-footed on the shifting landscapes of domestic and foreign policy. Hillary Clinton will move our country forward while promoting its noblest ideals.

God Bless New Hampshire for Voting for Hillary Clinton

Dear Orikinla,

You and I surprised a lot of people tonight!

In the days after Iowa, I turned to you and asked you to stand with me. When I needed you most, you came through with flying colors.

From the bottom of my heart, I thank you.

All the best,

Hillary Clinton

God Bless New Hampshire for Voting for Hillary Clinton

We thank the Almighty God who gave us victory in New Hampshire.

After Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton lost to Senator Barack Obama in the Iowa Caucuses, the legions of the anti-Clinton cult increased and swarmed the American mainstream news media to frustrate her and accelerate the momentum of the over-hyped Barack Obama into New Hampshire, to defeat Hillary Clinton again. But, I did not give up my support for her good cause. I continued my campaign for her victory on my blogs and websites and other sites.

I am learning many lessons of life from American politics. The lessons I know would be of immense benefit to my country, Nigeria, and me.

Before the polls, I went down on my knees to ask God for divine intervention to give her daughter Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton victory over her enemies and God answered my prayer. I did not wait for the results last night before going to bed. I woke up this morning and prayed as usual in my early morning devotion to God. After my prayers, I went to the main house to greet my younger sister Stella and her children and she greeted me with the good news that Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton has won the New Hampshire primary of the Democratic Party. The news was on Sky News and on the CNN. I was elated as I jumped up praising and thanking God for giving us this victory. I went down on my knees and lifted up my hands to thank God with tears of joy in my eyes.

To God be all the glory for our victory!
HillRaisers are jubilating all over America and the rest of the world.

I love you New Hampshire!
I thank you for voting for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.
I thank you for giving her the great lift to get her grove back!
I thank you for not losing faith in our hope for the restoration of the American Dream and for the great leadership of America in the world.
God bless New Hampshire!

God bless America!

N.B:
Do not give up your hope, no matter the negative forces or voices of opposition against you, because as long as you are still breathing, and looking ahead, you will make it.
Keep on doing your best for the common good of humanity and you will succeed.
Trust God always, because God answers prayers.

For the nation building of a New America, for a New Beginning, for a better and greater America.

Kindly, read the following report by MATT STEARNS.

McClatchy Newspapers
NEW HAVEN, Conn. --

All that Hillary Clinton would become -- all that inspires her allies and her enemies alike -- emerged during her years roaming the Gothic buildings of Yale Law School.

She helped edit a journal that included cartoon police-pigs and that published a self-aggrandizing essay by a Black Panther who had been convicted of murder. Yet she also helped calm a politically inflamed campus.

She nurtured an interest in using the law to aid the needy -- especially children -- that remains integral to her politics, but which opponents use to pummel her values.

She projected an intelligence that impressed many, but that could be cool and intimidating.

Hillary Clinton: America is At a Crossroads

"Good evening. As we start this New Year, America is at a crossroads.

We're a nation at war in a dangerous world.

We have a faltering economy, an energy crisis and 47 million people without health care.

But after seven long years of this administration, we finally have the opportunity for a new beginning.

Tomorrow, you can take the first step.

After all the town meetings, the pie and coffee, it comes down to this: Who's ready to be president and ready to start solving the big challenges we face on day one?

And we can solve them.

We can end the era of cowboy diplomacy and bring our sons and daughters home from Iraq.

We can make a new beginning for our economy and rebuild our great middle class. We can reform our government and transform our energy future.

We can make a new beginning on health care: cut costs, improve quality and cover every American.

I'm not running for President to put Band-Aids on our problems. I'm running to solve them.

You've welcomed me into your hearts and your homes. And I thank you. The stories you've shared will always stay with me.

Parents juggling jobs to pay for college for their kids, soldiers' families praying for a safe return. All the men and women across this state who have whispered their health care problems to me: bills they can't pay, parents they can't afford to care for, insurance companies who refuse to help.

I know you've waited a long time for a president who could hear you and see you. I would like to be that president.

So I ask you to caucus for me tomorrow. Put on your coats and call up a friend and help me change America.

If you stand with me for one night, I will stand up for you every day as your
president.

I'll work my heart out to bring the country we love the new beginning it needs, and I will be ready to start on day one. Thank you.

I'm Hillary Clinton and I approved this message."

The Anti-Clinton Pests

99% of those attacking Hillary Clinton online do not even know her offline and most are just pests.

It is common to see even absolute strangers running their mouths online to flame celebrities they know next to nothing about.

I have told ignorant posters that it is not compulsory to post comments.

I have seen evidence of political ignorance and intellectual illiteracy on websites attacking Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton by people who were either retards or dullards at the same age when she was already showing her brilliance and intelligence at age 12.

I wonder how people can display such naivety and immaturity without scruples?

Who is Hillary Clinton? By Charles Gibson of ABC News

Dear Orikinla,

I wanted to share a very personal interview that Hillary did last night with Charles Gibson of ABC News. She talked about her family life, growing up, and what it's like to be the first woman with a chance at winning the White House.

If you love Hillary as much as I do, I know you will love this video. Please take a few minutes to watch, and be sure to share it with your friends.

Sincerely,

Democrats 2008: Hillary 48%, Obama at 22%

Democrats 2008: Hillary 48%, Obama at 22%

December 05, 2007

(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Many Democratic Party supporters in the United States want Hillary Rodham Clinton to become their presidential nominee in 2008, according to a poll by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press. 48 per cent of respondents say the New York senator is their first choice for president.

Illinois senator Barack Obama is second with 22 per cent, followed by former North Carolina senator John Edwards with 11 per cent. Support is lower for New Mexico governor Bill Richardson, Delaware senator Joe Biden, Ohio congressman Dennis Kucinich, and Connecticut senator Chris Dodd.

On Dec. 3 in Iowa, Richardson discussed his chances, saying, "I have met Iowans looking for a presidential candidate who has the experience to bring about the change that our country so desperately needs. I am that candidate. I have the experience to solve the very real problems facing our country. As president, I will end the war in Iraq, work toward solving our energy crisis, and make sure that every American has access to health care."

In American elections, candidates require 270 votes in the Electoral College to win the White House. In November 2004, Republican George W. Bush earned a second term after securing 286 electoral votes from 31 states. Democratic nominee John Kerry received 252 electoral votes from 19 states and the District of Columbia.

Bush is ineligible for a third term in office. The next presidential election is scheduled for November 2008.

Glenda, Clare, and David

Dear Orikinla,

I have a new favorite way to watch presidential debates. I don't miss a single one with Hillary in it, of course. There's so much at stake that I'm always glued to the screen. But this last one was my favorite yet, thanks to Glenda, Clare, and David, the winners of the campaign's debate watch contest.

It was a great setting -- just a few of us sitting down on a couch, watching the debate, cheering for Hillary, and talking about what was unfolding on the TV. I love talking to Hillary's supporters, and it's even better when we're watching her on that stage.

We talked about their lives, too -- and about why they're supporting Hillary for president. After the debate, I got a call from Hillary (we often talk right after they're over), and she talked to Glenda, Clare, and David, too. (I had to pull the phone away from David because the two of them were reminiscing about Park Ridge, Illinois, where Hillary grew up!)

It was a great evening, and a great way to watch a debate. I'm really looking forward to doing this again.

And although you couldn't be there with us, the campaign put together a short video of the evening for you to enjoy. Take a look:

Sincerely,

Bill Clinton
